Top 5 Tips to Improve Your Score
Want to get better at SkyRider and show off an amazing high score? We've put together our top 5 tips to help you fly further and score higher!
1. Master the Tap Timing
The most important skill in SkyRider is controlling your height. Instead of holding the screen to fly up, try using quick taps to maintain a steady height. This gives you much better control.
Practice making small adjustments with light taps. When you see an obstacle coming, plan your path and use gentle taps to guide your character through.
A good height to maintain is the middle of the screen. This gives you room to move up or down quickly when needed.
2. Focus on Coins
Coins are worth 25 points each - that's more than double what fuel cans give you! If you want a high score, make collecting coins your priority.
Sometimes you'll see a line of coins. These are usually safe paths through obstacles. Follow the coins and you'll often find the easiest route.
Don't risk crashing just to get a coin though! No coin is worth ending your run early.
3. Know Your Obstacles
Each obstacle in the game has a pattern. Once you learn these patterns, they become much easier to avoid:
- Drones - These fly in a straight line. They're easy to go over or under.
- Lasers - These have a small height but stretch across the screen. A quick tap up or down will get you past them.
- Skyscrapers - Always look for gaps in buildings or fly over them. Never try to go through a building unless you see a gap!
- Fans - The blades spin in a circle. Time your approach to fly through when the blades are out of your way.
4. Use Speed Boosts Wisely
Speed boosts make you go faster, which means you'll cover more distance and get more points. But they also make the game harder!
The best time to grab a speed boost is when you have a clear path ahead. If you see lots of obstacles coming up, maybe skip that speed boost for now.
Remember that speed boosts wear off after a few seconds. If you're in a tough spot, sometimes it's best to wait it out until your speed returns to normal.
5. Practice Makes Perfect
This might seem obvious, but the more you play, the better you'll get! Your reflexes will improve and you'll start to recognize patterns in the game.
Try setting small goals for yourself. Maybe aim to beat your high score by 100 points, or try to reach level 5. Celebrating these small wins will keep you motivated.
Don't get frustrated if you crash a lot at first. Everyone does! The top players on our leaderboard have all crashed hundreds of times before mastering the game.
Bonus Tip: Take Breaks!
If you find yourself getting frustrated or making silly mistakes, take a short break. Come back with fresh eyes and you'll often do much better.
Playing for hours straight can actually make you worse as you get tired. Short, focused play sessions are better for improving your skills.
